In 2004, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted a "Great to be Nominated" screening of THE KING AND I (1956), which earned five Oscars and nine nominations (including one as the year's Best Picture) at the 29th Academy Awards.

Vocalist Marni Nixon, who dubbed star Deborah Kerr's singing voice in the film.
