More Memorable Quotations:

  • "I've found that sometimes the things you believe in become more real to you than all the things you can explain away or understand.  Oh, why do people have to lose things to find out what they really mean?" --as Tommy Albright in BRIGADOON (1954).
  • "Yeah.  I'm in terrible danger.  I'm in danger of believing that look on your face." --as Ted Riley in IT'S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER.
  • "He that sups with the devil must have a long spoon."-- as E.K. Hornbeck in INHERIT THE WIND.
  • "I may be rancid butter, but I'm on your side of the bread."-- as E.K. Hornbeck in INHERIT THE WIND.

This Gershwin musical extravaganza (also starring Leslie Caron) was nominated for an amazing eight Academy Awards and took home six statuettes, including those for Art Direction, Cinematography, Costume Design and Musical Scoring.
